Ever since my childhood I have always had doggy friends. I always longed for a little dog with a pedigree certificate so that I could attend dog shows. Our first pedigree dog was an Afghan Greyhound called Omar New Nazaret. Unfortunately, he did not share my passion for shows and really did not enjoy the excitement of the event.
Just by chance, whilst visiting a breeder of Ragdoll cats, I learned about a breed of Chinese Crested Dog. I was full of excitement for this breed of dogs and therefore instead of taking a kitten from the breeder I acquired my first little Chinese Crested Dog – Powderpuff, a little female called Dara z Alšova nábřeží. I was enthralled by the appearance of the Chinese – Powderpuffs because they look like little Afghans to me.
Unfortunately, little Dara’s life was to be a short one and she left this world unexpectedly from one day to the next. She went to doggy heaven at the age of just three. If you love your dogs as I love mine, I do not have to tell you how painful it was and how my family and I were affected by it. Dara had the most wonderful character and not a day passes by without me remembering her.
Soon after this I learned about a little female Powderpuff Cherlie who was returned to her breeder by her owners when she was ten months old. I missed Dara so much and felt so sorry for this abandoned little dog that I went to the breeder, Mrs. Kusá, in kennel Kalis z Třeště to collect her.
I did not want to have just one dog like before and longed to go to more shows. We therefore got a second dog, another little female Powderpuff called Polly Pupo-Haichi for which I am eternally grateful to the breeder, Mrs. Lenka Fritschová (kennel Pupo-Haichi).
At shows I looked more and more at the hairless variety of our breed and so we got another addition from Kalis z Třeště, Kymberly. Kymberly is my Mum’s baby, she lives at her place. My Mum, just like me, became addicted to this breed and to the excitement of shows and now accompanies me to nearly all the shows I go to with my little dogs. I would like to take the opportunity here to thank her for all her help and her patience; she is the best Mum in the world!
In 2007 we sealed our pack with marriage vows (photo). I am very happy that my husband tolerates and supports my hobby. I think he has become excited about dogs too. ![]()
In 2008 our kennel Nazarad was established by registration by the FCI. The name is an abbreviation of the name Dara z Alšova nábřeží (Dara-z-A-n), read backwards.
The latest addition to the pack is a hairless male dog Yaquinas Breath Easy At Nazarad. We call him Easy and I am very grateful to Mrs. Manuela Hendel (kennel Yaquinas), a breeder from Germany, for him.
